Last summer, the main shaft through the gear box of my father's Austin Healey 3000 broke

So, Gear box out, and off to a specialist for repair. A few months later, the box returns, and at christmas hols, we unwrap it all in order to fit it. Only to discover that it had been dropped before it was wrapped, damaging the rear flange

.
Some phone calls later, and it was back off to the 'specialists' for repair. A few weeks later, I phone them to chase it up, and they inform me, that they have sourced a new bell housing

WTF? It was fine! No, the couriers or the 'specialists' would appear to have damaged that too! But they'll only charge us £250 for a replacement!!!
A few weeks later, we get the gear box back. All lools okay this time. So, on with fitting it to the car. Over the past few weeks the gear box has been getting re-fitted, only to discover parts missing that were on the original gear box

. A few re-ordered parts later, and the box is in, and bolted down, and filled with oil. So, last night, it was time to start up the car

.
As it turned over, and fired pretty quickly, something did not sound right

Nasty grinding noises

Further investigation revealed that the clutch parts were rubbing on the inside of the bell housing

The 'specialists' have only gone and replaced the broken (prob by them) bell housing with the wrong one
So, tonight, it's back out with the gear box, AGAIN, to see what's what! I'm hoping it is only rubbing in one or two places, which will allow for some gentle grinding

to allow it all to fit.
