Re: Insurance
Just add it as a temporary car. Summing that's what it is. If not, insure it.

Insurance
Additional temporary vehicle will probably be the cheapest way.
If not suitable there are companies online that'll do you 1-28 days insurance. Not that cheap though.

Re: Insurance
1/2 right. There's a specific exclusion to the TP cover re. cars, "not owned by you." Ergo if you own it, you can't rely upon the TP cover from another car to get you by.tut wrote:The car you are driving under your own 3rd party cover has to be insured under its own policy Shug, otherwise if you had three cars you would be able to insure one and drive the other two.

The way I read this, if the car is SORN'd it doesn't need to be insured? Shirley that can't be correct, what if it is stolen or the garage goes on fire?kerryxeg wrote:Even if it's in the garage it needs insurance if it's not been SORN'd. In fairness to DVLA they are very good at reminding me.
What do others do who's cars are SORN'd?

That's correct. If it goes on fire or is stolen, your loss. The government is only concerned with having untaxed and uninsured cars on the road.
