If it's a soft top you can probably peel the roof off with some imagination and suitable home made implements fed between the window top and the cant rail - you just need some hook shape (think bent coat hanger) to push through and pick up and pull the release levers.

If it's a hard top, you are screwed.

There is a procedure for changing the batteries and I am guessing it involves having one working remote.

I assume that having unlocked the door by rotating the key in the lock, the central locking still doesn't allow the door to open? On my S2 exige the c/l button was on the cup holder between the seats IIRC - you might be able to fashion a suitable implement to squeeze through between window top and roof to press that (think long length of stiff wire or perhaps a length of copper pipe hammered flat).

Call MMC before they close?

Failing that, pick a window (I suggest pax window - rear window is a clam off job to replace, as is the windscreen, and it's easier to live without a pax window than a driver's window).

Cheers,
Robin

It has to be worth a go, in case the new batteries are gash - but I don't know whether there is something volatile in the plip that needs to be reset (or relearned by the alarm base unit). Often these things are rotating key sequences - if you remove the battery you reset the key sequence - or similar crypto babble.

Cheers,
Robin

Hammer?

If you can, slip something between the window and the roof so you can drop in a piece of chord with a slip knot on the end, lasso the tit on the door, putt the cord forward to tighten and then try and pull up.

Then you'll have a piece of string caught in the door as well as being locked out....

 Bummer. Check the new battery is ok if you can. When I had the same problem it turned out the 'new' battery was deader (that a word?) than the old one...didn't know anything about any reset procedure voodoo, and didn't need it- second battery worked no bother..(04, S2)

Stolen from the manual j33ama :-

Remove old battery and wait 10 seconds before inserting new one.
May require a re-sync after battery replacement... to do this:-

Stand close to car and hold down both buttons until LED on the key is extinguished (approx 10 seconds)
Release both buttons.
Press the large button for approx 1 second
Sync complete.

Hope this helps you get back in !!

EDITED: You must have posted as I was typing up... hey ho, at least you are back in anyway. There's a seperate process for a brand new key and you need a PIN for that.
