If getting the nose of the front clam re-sprayed, should one consider this and how much is it?

Full kit is £675 IIRC, lower front and sills is about half that. Had mine done after my full respray having seen how the car looks after a few years without it.

Worth considering armourfend as an alternative?

The snot has the full kit for the 7 and seems to be pretty effective

True, and IIRC it's more "visible" IYSWIM  which I suppose would be a bad thing...

Twas fitted when I bought the snot so didnt have the choice :D

I had Armourfend on my last car and have Defendall on the Exige. Not much to choose between them, but as noted above the Defendall is perhaps slightly thinner and less visible. Both are very effective at keeping stone chips at bay and definitely worth having if you value your car's appearance.

Had Defendall on four of my vehicles now and it is indeed thinner than 3m products.

It works well with regards the paint protection bit but you need to consider the colour of vehicle you are applying it to

Some colours make it close to invisible............. with others (flat colours) it stands out a bit more than you would like.

Speak to Russell at Defendall......tell him I sent you.... and after a few expletives , you should get some sound advice and a much keener price

Good idea IMHO. Only done 1500miles granny style since a respray and the nose looks like the surface of the moon already
