360 degree $afety cameras

Post by Scottd » Sat May 05, 2007 1:46 am

Don't know if anyone's mentioned this Courier story already...

http://www.thecourier.co.uk/output/2007 ... 9151t0.asp

The headline "Cameras move to save bikers’ lives" is quite unbelievable.

But anyone with a memory will remember that until the Scottish $camera Partnership (or whatever they call themselves today) placed a full page ad in the Courier (a shockingly expensive thing to do), the Courier reported objectively with articles like this -

"Police speed camera claims challenged"
http://www.thecourier.co.uk/output/2006 ... 8159t0.asp

Long live a free press, erm...

I guess it was called the Courier and Advertiser for a reason.

None of the 17 fixed cameras sites in the Tayside Police area coincides with the 10 most common areas where people are injured in road traffic accidents.

Says it all really

Road safety...

If they spent the money REMOVING speed bumps, there would be less wear on the suspension, brakes and probably tyres of cars, thus making them safer.

As a side effect, cars would also pollute less as their owners wouldn't be constantly accelerating and burning off the earths precious resourses.

Will they go for you d'ya think?!
