Just had my Evo dyno'd at the MLR event at the weekend and found it was kicking out 385bhp at the flywheel and 300bhp at the wheels (Evo VIII FQ-330), no wonder the 111R was feeling slow in the overtaking opportunities :) Think Mitsubishi got the abbreviation FQ about right

You can pick up an early Evo for pretty reasonable money now but obviously the maintenance required will be pretty expensive. The VI TME does not depreciate much easier so you will always get your money back.

I like the look of the VI TME. I guess I really like the boy racer scoops and vents and spoiler stuff and that seems to be the wildest looking (unless you can point me somewhere else).

I phoned up to ask about this one:
clicky
but it was already sold even though it is not due in untill later this month. Still, if nothing else it is good fun looking :)

Equally cool 5/6's are:
Evolution 6 Zero Fighter
Although very rare, the Evolution 6 Zero Fighter is not strictly speaking a
special edition. It is in fact a tuning package released by Ralliart Japan that could be fitted to any base Evo 6 and contained;
• Ralliart Sports ECU
• Brake Line Upgrade
• Intercooler Pipe Work Kit
• Brake Stabilizer
• Ralliart Adjustable Suspension,
• Ralliart Stainless Exhaust
System
• Carbon Gear Knob
• Carbon Handbrake Cover
• Ralliart Panel Filter
• Uprated Thermostat
• 18 Inch Wheels
• Zero Fighter Bodykit and Badging

Evolution 5/6 RS450
The RS450 was built by Ralliart UK as a thinly disguised road going rally car. The RS450 is based on an Evo 5 or 6 RS
and extensively modified with a rebuilt and strengthened engine, mappable engine management, upgraded brakes
and roll cage.

An RS450 was originally at £44,000 and 0-60 was measured at 3.8 seconds. Engine power has always been the subject of much discussion. Originally it was rumoured that the 450 in it’s name stood for the amount of horsepower the engine produced, but subsequently it’s thought to produce around 380bhp.

Ralliart also produced a few cars (sometimes based on GSR’s) with some of the RS450 modifications, mainly the engine ones. These cars are normally badged as Ralliart R450’s.

Evolution 6 RS Monte Carlo
Released in 2001 to celebrate Tommi Makinen’s last Monte Carlo win for Mitsubishi. Only 12 were produced by Ralliart UK. The car is based on an Evo 6 Tommi Makinen RS with a number ofmodifications

When I was looking to replace my car about 4 years ago, Western Mitsubishi had an Evo (cannot remember if it was a 6 or 8) which was actually owned by Tommi Makinen. Had been modified by Ralliart to produce around 450bhp. The ultimate Evo. Unfortunately did not have the cash at the time to buy it.

Not that its going to be of much concern for a man who has to pay Ferrari service bills, but older evos are going to need cash spent - my brothers V (which has extensive history and bills and is putting out about 375bhp) is needing a clutch - and now also a manifold. They are 8-10years old now after all. Awesome cars though.

There's a young guy (late 20s? ) who has a kid at the same school as my two, he has a very tidy Evo 2 (I think - L reg) in white with subtle Ralliart stickers.

Has a certain air of purposefulness about it - shame he drives like a fecking donkey in it :x might have a quiet word with him at some point
