Got a sneaking suspicion that'll be an SE30... There was one in purple in Murrays ages back. Once you got over the shock, it actually really suited the car. It's never going to look like anything other than a knob extension, is it - so might as well be honest about it!

Ive always loved a BRG Aston Martin V8 Vantage.

rwd + big engine = loads of smiles.

A mate's dad had an older one (1970s).

Was round at his once when they were gonna start it up after the winter. Took out all the plugs, brushed then down with a wire brush. Popped them back and and started it up. What a noise!

When I was working at the co-op one Friday evening, I went outside to collect in the trolleys. It was misty, and out of the mist came an AM V8 Vantage in brg - it rolled down the high street and back into the mist.

Really like the Esprit - later versions.

The 240R exige does loads for me... how much would i give for a black one of them?!

Love the sound of a Ferrari F50 GT1.

A Lambo is that bit more exotic and an animal tho...

Yeah - Met him at a OLC run trackday at Kh. Most unassuming guy I have ever met, it wasn't until he mentioned his 340R and awaiting deliver of the S2 that it click who it was.

First person I can recall wearing one of the now ubquious heated jackets

Cheers

Diablo SV Ed, in 'violet'. I'm with shug - it actually looks really good in that colour as that seemed to be the colour of all the promo cars that you saw in Top Gear etc at the time.

Dave Jones had the plate "DJ 1" on his Merc SL55 too, and wasn't it his Ford RS200 that Clarkson crashed into a tattie field (Crail IIRC)?

yeah ross - hasn't had the RS200 back working properly since! We were at crail in 2000 i think, and then the engine went - some kind Ford enthusiasts donated half their engines to get it working again, but failed :(

That plate is nice, but the one on the GT2 is just luvverly! Also owns "THE 911" on one of Ron Dennis' old Turbos.

Love the 993 GT2 Paul.. in fact 993 GT3, or the very rare 450bhp Turbo S.. (my fav) 0-100 in sub 7 secs timed by autocar I recall..

Image

or go back a step tothe 964/5 Turbo S even.. which not to be confused with either RUF BTR or CTR was a cross over model betwen 964 turbo 3.6 and 993 GT2.. all proper air cooled monsters... 8)

288 GTO Evoluzione would be my choice, if on the Fezza trip....

Image

Fugly, but uber rare racer that never raced with 650bhp. Was the car that was sanitised to become the F40. 8)

pretty much but there was an in between BB development mule/racer which had the same power and lightweight as the f40..

http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/frame.ph ... carnum=645

But the standard 288 GTO - itself a homologation special is still my favourite.. for looks if nothing else as well as he F50 8) tho show me a 250LM.. 8) the F40's MR grandaddy

I'd agree with the 288GTO. For me that car just defined what Ferrari's should look like growing up!

Interestingly enough my Grandfather asked me what I'd do at the time with £100k investment wise. I told him that I'd get a 288 GTO and he laughed.

Didn't realise that I was an investment guru at 1o years old, they are worht a fortune :D
