Minimum meat on the discs should be 24.9mil and I'm currently running my fronts on 24mil
Anyone got any old ones or spares that I can throw on for Teeside?
I'll drop Stu a PM to see if he has any old EBC's lying around, I know he's trying to get out of the brake side of things.
Cheers gents,
Greg

I think (only think at the moment) that I might have some of DDtB's discs lying around in the garage - it's possible though that I'm getting confused with Zippy's old S2 disc though.
I wouldn't be overly worried and would be very suprised if you were able to measure accurately without the use of an outside caliper vernier.

Mac, the disks were measured by using a vernier caliper - Robin did it

I was right then - you weren't able to measure them
I'lll have a look this evening and send you a text either way. Only issue is i don't know if the garage ones will have any more meat on them than the ones your taking off.
IIRC the tollerance from lotus between new and gubbed is very little - is Robin concerned about the wear?

tolerance between new and wear is 1.4mm. I am 0.9mm below minimum! Potential for fracturing the discs & buggering up the caliper is the worry. Robin said that I should be fine, but I wanted to get new ones for Teeside if poss.
Stu has been in touch, so I'll let you know if I'm sorted.
Cheers mate,
Greg

Cheers Paul.
We're possibly heading up to Robin's for a few hours to fit Tom's S2 kit, to free up Robin's Protechs, to put them on his 135R, to put the LSS on 'Das Uberbarge'

I'll give you a buzz.
Cheers,
Greg

ooooh - Haven't managed to get in touch with Stu - that would be ideal if you could pick em up for me mate! I'll try him again now.
The 135R kit is possibly going on AndyG's uberbarge... I think, subject to highly likely changes in plans of all concerned!

The disks are pretty thin. Not sure how thin you can run them before the fracture when hot. I figure teeside autodrome isn't Spa when it comes to heavy braking, and Greg's on road tyres so there's less grip anyway ...
I doubt that we'll put the 135R kit on the TeamAMP3 car after talking to Andy on the PMs - he's going for new Nitrons instead.
I'll be in and out all weekend, but so long as you call me before hand to make sure you can get in, you are welcome to come round and use the tools.
Cheers,
Robin

I wasn't planning on anything so drastic - I like to stockpile parts
Seriously the protechs are a total unknown, so once I get them fitted I might hate them and want to switch back to the well behaved LSS soon enough!
Cheers,
Robin

ah, you've just got them. my next question was what are the protechs like?
I looked at them for a mini a while ago (coilovers) but there didn't seem to be much info around about them. Rumered to have old nitron internals?
