If your on SE1 then it's a fairly safe bet that you've been around longer than 6 months

Good work Del
And it's good to hear MMC do want to listen to us and work together.

I shall email the SE1 list for possible SE1 only users and allocate them a differnet reference... shouldn't be a big job!
At the beginning of each month I can amend the valid list to include new members.

This sounds very promising.
Being fairly new (and still within my 6mth probation), I have only my MMC buying experience to go on (which was good)... and so any SE processes/offers can only enhance that for me.
Andy,

Good news and definately a step in a positive direction.
It would genuinely be nice to wholeheartedly recommend MMC as a Dealer rather than just saying that they sell nice cars.

What happens to member numbers in the memberlist if someone leaves SE2?

Nah just tell 'em sign up on SE2 or nae discount. SE2 "is the future" after all, is it not
Sounds like you are setting yourself up as Membership Secretary though Del. Not a task for the faint hearted.

PS - on SE Dinosaurs just now, I suggested there hadn't been any debate re: MMC discount plans etc. Clearly I just found it on this thread, sort of...so apologies for being a bit premature. However, my point remains. There needs to be a bit more chat about what would be competitive etc etc. All purely IMHO naturally.

I've left that up to MMC to see what they can 'offer'... though everything that has been asked is getting looked at amongst others.
As for membership number... I can provide them with list of names of people that want to participate.... so NO number required there.... if your name aint on the list... you aint getting in.

Ooooh, imagine the controversy if you'd said that 2 years ago

Agreed, it's also a step towards SE becoming a club and that brings even more work/problems!
A list of names would be best I think.

Yep...I agree with that too!
So, I already have a list of valid usernames ... just need proper names to go with them, if interested. May well want to wait until MMC come back with services before confirming that you want to partcipate.
The only data MMC will have is userid and proper name. They can cross reference the proper name to your car reg.
Hope everyone is happy with this.
Obviously, comments and questions welcome.

Are you sure Campbell? Surely SE2 is the
now
and so SE3 must be the future, after all nothing stands still
and soon we will outgrow this clunky medium that seems just now to be so very good but still requires a keyboard to enter "chat" with.
eg Does anyone remember Shug? Whatever happenned to him?
Kevin Smart? Alan Bonas?

SE1 and SE2 are both "the now" but fact remains SE2 is more likely to see a long term future than SE1 - measuring traffic levels says it all
As for controversy Simon, I am known - at work at least - for saying it like it is.
There, done that.
