Feckin trains?

Post by Scotty C » Fri Apr 13, 2007 5:41 pm

I was looking to get the train down to Jude on Monday.(aberdeen - newcastle) Had a look on Wednesday at the cost of fair. £17.80 Thought that was cheap. I did not want to book this until today as I was not sure if the car was going to be ready or not? It said that as long as the ticket was purchased online before 1600 the day before travel etc

Went online today book ticket and the best price is £78.30. WTF. Called up and the girl said we have sold all the £17.80 tickets , but we can sell you a £78.30. GTF.

Looks like i will have to rethink this?

You might get it cheaper if you just turn up at the station. I've found that with rail fares before.

Take Neil up and have a free dinner too? It might be a bit rare but it will certainly be fresh...

I find the train fares very resonable....... but then I only pay 1/3 full price and have 16 x 48hours slots where I get it for nothing :D

1st Class is ultimately the way to go from or to London journeys - it actually made a hangover bearable, WIFI access, free coffee and biscuits, and a huge bag of hangover food from M&S!

Post by Scotty C » Mon Apr 16, 2007 4:02 pm

did not matter as Dan fitted the engine and had problems with the bottom end knocking. He is now got another engine coming tomorrow and will fit it in the next couple of days. I am now just going to get a lift from Tut on Sunday on route to Teeside.

Thanks for the offer's/pointer's will just book in advance next time.

Scotty

I have a pass that gives me free bus and rail travel throughout Scotland, but it has a photo on it, so you would have to disguise yourself as me.

Possibly get one of those Tom Cruise masks, that would be a reasonable likeness.....................
