Well feck me if a deer didn't launch its self infront of me tonight. Hit it square on, don't know what happened to it as I kept on going, fearing the worst. No damage to radiator/crash structure or even driving lamps (S1). However there are a couple of splits on the front edge of the clam just above the grille. So, has anyone had their clam repaired successfully ?. Anyone in ABZ capable of doing it ?.

Jeeze... that sounds very minimal damage for hitting a deer. Every cloud an' all that.
I have no signature.

Guess so, could have been totalled. Managed to brake before I hit it, locked up but stayed straight so hit it with probably the stiffest part of the clam. Still pissed off though, good weather just starting and all that.

Dont mention deers to kenny....
I would be tempted to leave it as is, and get it done after the summer - saving a summers worth of stonechips / potential more scuffs etc.

Sorry to hear that!
Try PPS Glassfibre Ltd. They are based in Inverurie. They seemed to have done a relatively good job on mine at quite a decent price.

Thanks Simon. Presumably the clam will need to be removed ?. Can they be trusted with this too ?

Hi Robin
When i got my front done they kept the clam on. They jacked up my car and took the front wheel and the plactic arch off. They also popped my front indicator off and managed from there.
To be honest i'm not sure if they will know how to take off the clam. If the clam needs to be taken off, then maybe you should try some where else. you could show them the damage and see what they say.

Might be repairable with clam on, worth asking. What about painting, do they also do this or did you take it to a body shop ?

they don't paint so had to take it to a body shop. this means you'll have to drive with a yellowish patch until sprayed
i took it to Autospray at Bridge of Don beside the Peugeot garage.

I reckon the deer survived. I managed to stand on the brakes so reduced the impact. There wasn't any gore on the clam, just a few hairs and some sh1t. However, if you want to stock up your freezer, you could try looking on the A947 about 3 miles south of Fyvie!!!!!

PPS in Inverurie reckon it can be repaired without removing the clam so at least that's good news. Anyone have any experience with any of the paint shops in Inverurie ?. It's handier for me to have it done out that way, nearer home.

I've used Graham at Kintore Bodyshop, 01467 632066, he does a good job and just did a clam replacement on an elise for someone last week (light met blue not sure if that's anyone here).
He's usually around most evenings so you can drop by and see what he thinks.
