iirc blue ray stand alones are 600+

I dont agree with the chat about nobody buying them. As Any said they have finally ditched hyping them and piggy backing on the free publicity of little johnny camping outside to be disapointed. PS3 broke the last console record, set by the PSP.

Lack of HDMI cable for a £400 device is scandelous though.

What's the deal with compatability? They've been on sale here in Nigeria for ages but I assume they're US or Japanese spec...

Ummm DVDs display at 480p whereas Blu-ray supports 720p and eventually 1080p I believe, which is why one may want one.

p = progressive scan (not pence)

i = interlaced (not fuel injection)
