Hiscot is your man for gearbox type questions. Should not be too bad from what I read, but I'm unsure about the costs involved. Might need a few specialized tools and a load of spares.
My plan is to strip my old one down and assess how easy it will be to repair and then either strip and replace all the broken bits, changing ratios as I go or strip and section it for the cadets to play with. Depends on the level of apathy at the time really....

Besides, I have a dead (ish) std S1 box (Once I fetch it!) to play with then it's a matter of finding the other ratios. Apparently I will need a montego box or something...

Electric reverse? Might be a bit tricky to fit. Or just learn to park facing the right way.
If you think about it (In a superficial way!) reverse is in the right place too, hack about the case and remove the reverse brake it might even work....
