S1 standard alarm
S1 standard alarm
Hi Folks,
Have a small issue with my alarm. Was just leaving to go to work tonight (in the audi) and heard the elise beeping at me.
Had a quick look, and the alarm tell tale on the stack was illuminated constantly (i.e not flashing like normal) occasionally there was a beeping noise that i had never heard before.
Tried to deactivate the alarm but no response with keyfob. Tried other fob, still no action.
Left it at that as didnt have time before heading to work.
Initial thought is that its the battery has went flat, possibly due to car sitting frozen up completly.
Any suggestions??
Neil

used car 2 days ago, ran perfect, parked up, activated alarm, everything ok. yesterday there was heavy frost, car was frozen up solid. 2day it had defrosted and its beeping at me.
I didnt want to open it up incase it alarmed, as i was in a rush to get to work.
Will try tomorrow, just thought i'd try and get a heads up of what it might be before.

When my car battery goes dead (through appalling lack of use!), the alarm tends not to complain at all. However I do think I recall a time when it was REALLY juiced that the alarm started beeping uncontrollably.
Also had something similar when Lisa's old Scoob battery let go a few years back.
Got the Elise on the trickle charger and all well within a few hours. I now keep it on the trickle through the colder winter months.

well, opened the car, no alarm went off.
tried using keyfob and touch key to disarm it but nothing. tried putting on ignition, came on, stereo blaring, stack lights up brightly, except the alarm tell tail.
when i turn the key to start i'm not getting the fuel pump priming.
Dont think its the battery any more. any other idea's. car was used all of last week so dont think its battery

If the fuel pump isn't priming, the immobiliser is still on. You can hear this effect when all is working normally and you turn the ignition key without first disabling the alarm/immob with key fob.
If the touch key is also not working, then it might be internal immob failure, or maybe just some grief with the wiring in the engine bay. Not sure how it all hooks into loom, and does the Honda conversion require any mods which may have gone wrong etc?
Jedi Master TSE Chief Spark Robini is your man I fink

AA man came and failed miserably. Said battery was slightly below max volts, so put his charger on it but it made no difference.
Alarm tell tail is now off when the ignition is off, and comes on steady when ignition is switched on. Fuse number 11 is fine, as is fuel pump fuses in rear. Any other idea's??

i dont have the key in the passenger footwell (i dont think) but happy to bypass the whole thing if its not an easy fix.
Where is the siren unit and can i check the battery??
Working the next 3 days, so will disconnect the battery, possible stick it on charge in the warm dry house, then see what i can do on saturday/sunday.
