Crackerjack !!

Post by gorrie » Sat Jan 13, 2007 6:11 pm

Thats what it's felt like during this Elise purchase. MMC Edinburgh just keep bundling more extra stuff in to my arms.

It was due a B-Service... so they did that as part of the deal (as well as the warranty/break-down cover/mot).

Then, I found out Wednesday they had put new front pads on for me (without being asked) as they only had 30% left.

Yesterday, Graham called to ask if I wanted the private plate or the standard plate... as it was up for grabs for free. Yoink !!

Went to pick up the car today (still smiling) and Graham informs me that the technician who was preparing my car got a bit carried away and also replaced the rear pads.. so they were obviously having to swallow the cost.

He then followed that up with news that instead of just skimming the disks (to get rid of surface corrosion while it's been sitting... as agreed), the technician gave me new front disks (rears skimmed)... so again they were having to swallow the cost.

I did have the cheek to ask what other free stuff they could give me before I left the showroom... but I think I've probably had my lot.

Gotta feel for that technician... mis-read the job sheet apparantly !!

Andy.

Ahhh, MMC "skimming" disks.....a very familiar story.
Glad you're happy with the car.

Gareth... do you do Lotus Sport Sunstrips?? I mentioned to Graham that I might need to get one as the 135R has an absence of sun visors.

I'm sure he said he thought you printed some off??? I may have the wrong man though.

By the way... word on the street is that MMC Edinburger has hired a new floor manager dude for the workshop... poached him from DeutcheMarque apparantly. Some other recent people too apparantly. Maybe change is on the way?

Skimming Pads???

This is the man you want:

http://www25.brinkster.com/bobvanm/

You would need to ask him about a sunvisor as the ones he does are just lettering i.e. dont block out sun.

I'm going to get him to make me one with the Lotus Sport Lettering ontop of a black sunstrip 8)

Yep... that Lotus Sport Windscreen job looks the ticket... but as you say, on a black sun-strip.

I'm sure Bell & Colville do one for around £30 or so... have you asked the man for prices on sun-strip?
