New Year - New plans?

Post by mac » Mon Jan 01, 2007 1:11 am

I'm going to get in shape and lose weight to help in whatever form of motorsport I find myself in this coming year.

Cheers

I'm going to put up with less bull, when people are wrong I will tell them, when someone is disrespecting me I will take issue with it.

I think I have been too nice last year, trying to be "Mr Nice" at work and at home and all I seem to get as a reward is stepped on.

I sat back and thought about how many things I wanted to do at the start of the year that I actually managed to do... sod all mostly.

Planned track days 6 or 7... actual, 2.
Mexitowers, all of it.... actal sat & 1/2 of sunday...
Walshy Day... nope..

Never made any of the Edinbeer events, none of the spanner n sponges events. Not even any of the Karting days.

Managed the Doune event but had to come home early and missed the run up the hill.

2006 has been a year of frustration and sadness. If 2007 isnt any better, I might as well cut my bollocks off and join a budist camp.
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

I'm going to visit the grandparents more often, and make a conscioius effort to spend more time with me old mates from Dundee, and those that've moved further away (its scary to think how few times I've seen people I still class as 'close friends' in the last year :? )

Roll on '07 .... only 3 years till my ferrari-buying time limit (imposed circa 1989) expires...

Yeah, hope this ones better for you John.

That thing at work about being too nice to some is disappointing but true. Im grateful that my team is mostly well meaning and the boss realy supportive! I believe in giving what you can to the team. Some are afraid to put themselves out too much and lose out - I believe it pays dividends! ....nipping things in the bud along the way is all thats needed after youve done that.

Does anyone recommend a particular rowing machine to help me achieve my new years res??! There is the amazing Concept II you see in gyms..really expensive tho.... Anyone got an alternative to recommend...

Cheers,
Michael.

Last year's resolution for me, was to loose weight, and get career sorted, and enjoy life more.

Did all of the above; lost 1 stone by the summer, (which i have not yet put back on), enjoyed lots of SE stuff & some motorsport too (won my the autotest championship in my local car club!... in the BMW!!!!! ).

Been doing a fair bit of cycling, and feel great for having exercise (until cold the past few weeks).

Career sorted too. (I hope). Now self employed having quit my job last month. Working as an accountant & tax consultantant specializing in self employed & small firms.

Here's hoping for a properous new year, and either another elise, or caterham soon

Took note of this and battered vodafone today. They had sold me their Passport service. £1.50 fflat fee for 10 mins when abroad. Brilliant I told the man i am off to NY next week and will be calling lots as about to propose. Get back in Dec to a £225 bill.

Call to batter and er sorry Passport plan not worky in the US.

5 calls later and today final one say I will not be cancelling unless you can solve it now on the phone and full credit.

FYI it was Vodafone.

Yeah I am going to continue the get fit thing, try and do a couple of triathlons, continue with the cycling to work every day and also work hard and chill at weekends.

I would like to get the car thing sorted however would also like to get a business idea of the ground.

Most importantly, my main goal for 2007 is to give up the ciggs which should ultimately help with everything else including getting fit!

Get a job that I want....

Currently looking at crap jobs to tide me over but still looking for a career somewhere... Carphone wharehouse anyone?!? There is a huge call centre just down the road and a friend of mine says that if you aren't too much of a scally (No comments required! :protest ) promotion is pretty quick. Not that I want a job forever in CPWH but if it pays the bills for the time being... :(

(Yes I am well aware that career means a) to proceed form left to right in an uncontrolled fashion! b) a job that has gone on for too long!)

Oh and loose a stone or so, like last year.

The only resolution I have ever kept is: no currys after midnight. Sounds silly but as I used to live 10 secs off curry mile in Manchester when I was a student it was far too easy to stray after several pints of cheap lager...!
