you will need a full s2 exhaust system from the head back to the Cat I'm afraid. The stud pattern on the manifold is 6 studs not 4 IIRC.

There may well be 2nd hand options knocking about in peoples sheds though.

I would fit the S2-type manifold along with the S2 pipe - the design of the manifold is better in a number of ways (Lambda probe position, bore and length or primaries, junction of primaries to secondaries, spacing and access to flange bolts) and allows for the fitment of a proper heatshield for the time when your existing one dies (if it hasn't already).

They cost 200+ new .

I have a boxed brand new one that you can have for 100GBP.

I also have a geniuine 25K used one+gasket+downpipe (aka flexi-section) for 100GBP.

They will fit your S1 for sure, as I have fitted two already this way. You will need to release the lambda probe from the old manifold, or purchase a new one (the pattern parts are not that expensive).

Cheers,
Robin

I did the S2 manifold & flexi swap on my S1 recently mate. I had them fitted professionally at Falkland for £180 (including gaskets etc). That may not sound like it, but its a bargain: MMC were going to charge me £700+ for the S2 flexi & manifold alone.

The only reason the labour was as much as that at Falkland was the old lambda was an absolute pig to remove.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next person to ask them to do that didn't get a slightly higher quote :-)

No doubt, but you are used to working on Elises whereas for them it's a very now-and-then thing I think ... I suspect they burned more than 180 quid just getting the undertray off and trying to figure out how to get all the bits apart and removed from the car (you know the old manifold, downpipe & heatshield Chinese puzzle :-).

Perhaps we should rent you a garage up here and you could come up once a month and work on all our cars - we'll supply the beer :-)

Cheers,
