LCD TV Installation NLC

I'm looking to get my LCD TV wall mounted. Anyone recommend a firm to do this? My local Sony centre is talking £1k

Would like a pro installtion with hidden cables for Sky+, PS2, sound, PC and power etc.

I would DIY it, it's really not very hard unless you have special circumstances ?

Is the wall plastered or dry lined ?
How far away is your nearest pwer supply ?
How far away are you placing your sky+ etc ?

Don't forget about some security precautions, my mate just had his house broken into and his 32" LCD TV stolen. Burglars are targetting LCD/Plasma TVs. They didnt even take laptops. Ransacked the place looking for jewellery and cash though

The whole plasma/lcd wall mount scenario is a farce. The brackets are ridiculously overpriced and what's with this 'install' nonsense companies drum into us? It's a bracket bolted to the wall, nothing complex. As for cabling...hole behind the screen, hole at skirting level and drop the cables down - job done. I did this myself and my wall will fall down before my plasma does. Fair enough, I have my av kit directly under the screen so more work involved if you want it in a different place, but you should do all the messy work yourself and get a plasterer in to tidy it all up.

I understand the need for a proper AV Home Cinema install but for the average person just wanting to wall mount their screen and hide the cables, the prices they charge are criminal.

"my wall will fall down before my plasma does" - I've now cursed myself and will probably find my screen lying in pieces on the floor one morning

Nah, you'll probably find your screen lying under your wall but still mounted to it

You think like me, although I have plasterboard walls therefore polyfilla is used to touch up opposed to a plasterer but same idea.

I'm a spark to trade and with mates constantly looking for homers it's 2nd nature to me cabling down walls etc. I suppose, but it's more common sense than anything else.
