Re: Spa-Francorchamps. Eau Rouge. Flat out…?
On a cold and moist track I was nowhere near flat...
5th down to 4th turning in but not braking, picked the throttle up to about three quarters then there was a little bump on the right which just after the car settled you were up to full throttle. Even from later in the day when it was drier I still don't see any Exige/Elise of equivalent power to mine and certainly not more being flat through Eau Rouge, I'd like to see the videos of those trying though!

Re: Spa-Francorchamps. Eau Rouge. Flat out…?
Interesting in the Jethro vid he just goes flat out and tries to keep it pinned. I got some good advice in the past on 'flat' corners and I'm sure passed it on before but here it is again...
You need to get your brain wired into keeping that right foot pinned. One of the worst things you can do is lift off (even involuntarily!) half way through. A technique to do that is short shift on the previous straight and take it flat at a lower entry speed. Once comfortable with that gradually increase your 'rev limit', bringing up the entry speed but still taking it foot flat to the floor.
Eventually you should get to a point taking it as fast as possible but it's much safer as you're used to the feeling of the car going through on full throttle.
This doesn't change the laws of physics of course, you still won't make it flat in a V6 or on a bike...

Rear spoiler/aero really does make a difference at this sort of speed. When I was racing there in the Honda S1 against Steve Williams in his duratec S1 with spoiler, his car was much more planted all the way through. Same as jumping between my car into a 340R or exige S1 at Donny. The rear aero is really noticeable at 120mph
Re: Spa-Francorchamps. Eau Rouge. Flat out…?
Think I will be taking it easy in the V6 , till I get used to the extra speed over the yaris power of the 211. Think the best I ever saw up the straight was 125. It has been 3 years since I was there, so will be like starting again any way. I have played the game at Cadwell before , at coppice, the vx and the 211, and it does take a while to get your brain and your foot to work together, it's quite a challenge, and also at Blanchimont , in the 211, it was easy in the vx there, but never at Eau Rouge.
