IT help - Master Volume

For some reason, everytime I restart my laptop, the "Wave" within the Master Volume control switches to Mute. Always have to manually turn it up.
How can I prevent this ?

Google Talk which is similiar to Skype

Rip it off and test. Skype mutes mic on boot.
