Just for looking absolutely bonkers I have said Zonda but if, sorry, when I get round to buying a supercar it will be a very hard choice between the Ferrari's and a Mclaren F1.

Not voting as you have not included the McLaren F1, probably the greatest of all, and 10 years old now.

F40 for me, closely followed by the Zonda. I notice hardly anyone likes th SLR - apparently Gorden Murray thinks it turned out to be pants too, and he was involved in designing it  . No Veyon either - pig ugly and about 1000kg overweight in my book

Veyron is an odd beast, yes it has 1001 hp but it has things like a radiator for the hydraulics on the spoiler FFS, why not stick with electric and bin all the hydraulic mess?

A supercar has to be beautiful, hideously impractical, exclusive and hellish to keep, Porsche 917 it is:

Plus, it did adorn my bedroom wall for nigh on 5 years when I was a youngster (and I think I still have 2 Burago die-cast models of the bad-boy at mum & pop's house!) Centemental value weighs high! However, I wonder if it would be like meeting one of your heroes...
Just drive up to Glencoe and knock on Mr Savilles door and be done with it. Hope you like Werthers Originals.

If you have the money, no problem.

What you pay now...............

1970 Porsche 917
Chassis No: 917 020

$2.25m

Contact: Wayne Jackson
Telephone: +001 (410) 493 2883
E-mail: Wayne@962.com

Chassis 917.020 remains arguably the single most correct, meticulously restored and one of the single most historicly important surviving vehicle of its type in existence. Chassis 917.020 is fully documented from the very moment built by the Porsche Factory, through each of its individual races and on to its one and sole owner since new. It is in fact the only one-owner-from-new Porsche 917 in existence. It is also the only 917 known to still have its original Porsche Factory Invoice. While it is most always associated with its overall victory at the gruelling 12 Hours of Sebring, this is but one small part of this most fortunate vehicle.
Chassis 917.020 is one of the few fabled Porsche 917 Coupes which swept the board in endurance racing in both 1970 and 1971. It also has the distinction of being the winner of the Sebring Twelve Hour Race in 1971, driven by Vic Elford and Gerard Larrousse. This car is one of just five 917 Coupes to have won a major World Endurance Championship Race remaining outside of Factory ownership today.

And what it cost in 1972.

Always had a soft spot for the Gallardo; as practical
as you get with the selection on offer but still looks great.

Still, if the Mac Merc SLR came with Shell.........then I may reconsider!!

Mac F1 is the obvious omission on the list, but my personal fave is the Fez 288GTO, for its sheer beauty & purposefulness, also not listed, so I plumped for the F40

Right you are all being silly. F1 for performance. One of the two below for looks. Don't like Lambos normally but I'll have my Miura in white please.

Not sure if this is a supercar. But mine would be in red. (Saw one in Bray (just outside Maidenhead) once, parked outside the cricket club. My non-car loving mates didn't give it a second look whilst I stopped slack jawed and gazed.)

The 250 GTO is one of the all time classics, and also one of the most beautiful.

Your pic of Nick Masons reg 250 GTO is also the best known, and one of the best used.
