New Audi R8 V10 advert

Very disappointing. I loved the old advert with the engine cover off and nailing the thing on the rolling road. I have day dreamed of buying one and a rolling road and just popping out to the garage for half and hour now and then doing just that. New ad? Some near silent revving, a few flashing lights, a picture of the car in a tunnel - WTF? They should have filmed the car howling through the tunnel on full chat ... both from a stationary camera at the end of the tunnel and from a chase car. What is wrong with these creative types!! I cancelled my order, obvz.

They spend a fortune on it and turn out a crap product.

Even Verian called me when she saw the old advert the first time and that is Mrs Completelynonpetrolhead.

Problem is that you're not allowed to show any sort of 'sporty' or 'fast' driving, because obviously if they do that we'll all just copy it as soon as we get in our cars.

The safety police have ruined it.

Anyone remember the early Ford adverts? Now that's proper advertising

there were some decent car ads on the when we were in Dubai last year. The kind of stuff you get on the Internet here is broadcast on TV there.

Didn't Toyota get an advert for theGT86 banned a couple of years ago for showing "fast" driving ?

Had look at the new R8 when mine was in for service. While there is a lot I like about the new car there is equally a lot I don't and most of that is to do with the new grills and the size of them. Shame because they had a chance to make it a bit more sleek but instead made it look a bit more Q7 esk.
Agree the new ad is just pants, does nothing to make you want to buy one unlike the old ad which was just genius.
