As far as I was aware the Tesla 3 is not even on sale yet and will not be for quite a while. The final layout of the interior has not been decided yet and it will not actually be released until 2017.

I think it would've been a model s.

Saw a few in Holland recently as they appear to use them for taxis quite a lot.
What sort of range do these have? I would have thought most EVs wouldn't go the distance required by taxi drivers. Also seems like an expensive vehicle to use for a taxi, I wonder if Tesla are discounting them to taxi companies in order to get people in them and increase awareness and interest.

Tesla Model 3

I think it's possibly the Dutch tax system that favour EV's over their world destroying counterparts.
I think they get big reductions on vehicle tax if they are more efficient. I remember Dutch Dominique explaining it is something like a 40% tax on purchase price for normal or iniefficient cars in cloggy land.
That's why they buy vx's rather than lotus as they are cheaper.

This is all from my memory and could be quite wrong though. :)

Your memory is correct although I cannot confirm the % tax relief they get.

That would explain it. :thumbsup

We are quite lucky here in the UK, the tax on cars in Denmark is horrific.

Also as for range over 200 miles on a charge although I've read some real world reviews with short daily drives getting half that. So much like fossil fuel cars best mileage would be on a long run and this would worsen for short journeys.

If the battery's anything like an iPhone 5's, we're all doomed!

As it is, a short hop across the Irish sea...

e.g. BMW M4 (no options) OTR RRP = £55,635 in the UK - And £80,643 in Ireland, by the time registration tax is added. (€101,610 @ €1.26 to the £)

(£950 PA for road tax too... For the first 30 years of the car's life...!)

Their road tax (wegenbelasting) quarterly is also eye watering. I believe a petrol mini is around 1500 euro (basic 1.6) and a diesel can be 50% more.

I have tweeted Elon asking when he will be bringing out the wagon. Will let you know when he replies.

A particular taxi company in Dundee has some Nissan Leafs (Leaves?) which always made me curious as to their usability in such a role....

Some of the taxi guys that I look after have three drivers to one vehicle, each doing 8 hours shift per day. When during that would an EV taxi get charged up? I still think it is the future, but it's not quite here yet.

still think now is the time to enjoy petrol engines while we can - 10 years time everything will be like this.

Hugely impressive though, still fancy a P90D.

The Leaf is about 40 minutes to charge from empty if you have a suitable charging facilities. It can do 300+ miles a day, but does require some management as the battery gets progressively get hotter. Apparently, it was designed with limited cooling to keep weight and costs down.
