I think he'd at least need to give them a chance to fix it before threatening to reject it.

Actually yes, you are all right, it's only bloody 12 days old!

I'm going to call them again and get it sorted sooner.

I'm only beginning to think straight today, unfortunately I witnessed a young girl getting run over on my way to work this morning and I'm happy to admit that I was in a state of shock until a wee while ago.

I was right behind the guy that hit her and dragged her up the road a bit under his car, not good I can tell you

My ar$e its got nothing to do with him. He doesn't wash his hands of something once you've signed on the dotted. A salesman should be concerned with the merchantable condition of the product he sells. Its his reputation on the line, its his product.

As Paul says, it also keeps the pressure up. We've all heard about failures in 111Rs... but that came in some cases 2 years down the line. This is an 'S' problem, from one of the first in the country. I'd wager they'll be keen to keep the flack down so you should be able to use that in your favour...

Am I not right in saying that Lotus have an off the road policy on new cars which require them to be looked at within 24 hours and provide you with a courtesy car?

Maybe I dreamt it but i'd be giving Lotus Customer Services a call to ccheck my position 01953 608000

BTW, I meant to ask, were you ever at Paisley Uni? I used to know a David Bryce that went to live in Edinburgh once he'd got his degree and worked for Marconi (i think). Same guy?

I've had similar experiences myself. I ended up just driving straight to MMC in Glasgow (where I bought it from) on one occassion, leaving them the keys and saying I'll be back tonight to pick it up when you've fixed it. Then phoned the salesman and had a rant down the phone to him and threatened to take legal action to return car. He even came and picked me up from work to collect the car.

Phone Bill and Graeme and if you don't get anywhere, phone Lotus. Make sure you tell them you're going to phone Lotus.

Tell them if it's not sorted asap, you'll be writing an official letter of complaint to Lotus and the MD of the John Martin group (Gordon Nisbet), to join the one I've recently sent in. I have no problem with you mentioning me by name (Derek Shanks) if you want to refer to my ongoing complaints with them. Tell them you're aware of recent complaints from other Elise owners and that you'll be adding to the complaints I've already made to Lotus about MMC service and aftersales.

Hope you get it sorted mate.
Derek

P.S. I have their *only* courtesy car on Friday/Saturday, so that's probably affecting you. Sorry! But they should have more than one courtesy car! And it shouldn't be a Suzuki Swift!!!

Sorted, I just spoke to Graeme and it will be looked at tomorrow morning AND they will carry out the first service at the same time :D

I made the mistake of speaking to the service department at first who were of no help.

nothing you can say mate, and no it was not the drivers fault, he could not have been doing more than 20 and she just came out of nowhere! She was not in a good way but I reakon she will be ok, just a broken bone or two.

nope, not me mate.

Are you sure you can handle the power of such an awesome vehicle?

Seriously, with my 15 visits this year, i've resorted to driving the car over at 6am, then running back to the house to get my other car. They seem totally oblivious to the disruption this nonsense causes people.

Normally Bill will help fit things in where he can. My throttles sticking again, but I simply cannot face dropping the car off for a 16th time

 Do you think I can get that one to go sideways too??

So true! They seem completely oblivous to the fact that coming all the way from Glasgow to drop the car off at 8am and making it back to work (also in Glasgow) is a little bit of a fecking inconvenience!
