Pre Spring Shakedown

Post by rawsco » Sat Feb 27, 2016 2:08 pm

I know spring is a few days away but I took R55 out for proper welly with the AD08rs on it, went to Auchterarder via Gleneagles on the A977 then back via the B8062 and the B934, thoroughly enjoyed it... Loving the AD08Rs must be 90% the grip of the 48's in the dry, they don't go off as bad when they go cold and the feel pointier. B934 was good. Had some fun with someone in a Fiesta ST. He thought he was doing ok till I started to press on... Cross country the wee Exige is brutally quick in the dry and that's at 7/10ths, just can't get over how it deals with bumps and undulations.... Now I have another smashed front plate, these things are consumables :-)

Anyone else been out today? Might head to the Tartan Tarmac brekky tomorrow depending on how pissed I get tonight.

Sounds like you had a blast, I'm well jealous!

missing my car as it spends it's 2nd week in the bodyshop, should be primed on Monday then another week and a bit to paint and assemble... Itching to get back out there as I have a Diesel E-class Auto instead, not sure I can do gears anymore lol, stalled the wife's BM last night at the lights, slowed down and forgot there was a clutch

Evora is coming out of hibernation on Tuesday. :D The good thing about putting the car away for winter is the excitement of getting it out for a run and learning to drive it again. :drive

+1, I wanted to take it out today but didn't want to tax it for the whole of Feb for one drive!

Yip a cracking day, ideal for a bit of Blue on Blue.

Martin and I had a great spirited run out over the hills, set off from Aberdeen thru Tarland out to Ballater, up past Glenshiel lodge to the Lecht. Down to Tomintoul, over to Dufftown, Cabrach to Kenethmont back thru Insch on way back to Aberdeen.

150 brilliant miles with no roof's even thou it was sub zero at 8.30am, couple of exciting moments in the shaded area's.

Just need to get Martin out on a few more early spring morning's

Great weekend for it and a lot of empty roads (apart from the occasional sheep).

Lovely. All those pics are very inspiring!

Hardtop came back off my Elise last week and we've enjoyed a few "Spring" miles now too.

Need to try harder though.
