Lotus factory tour worth doing?

Post by Simon82 » Fri Feb 26, 2016 4:36 pm

I'm going to be down in Lowestoft next week and thought seen as being so close it would be rude not to see if I could have a nosey at the factory.
Just wondering if anyone has done the tour recently? Seems to run every Wednesday for £40

Cheers!

Simon,

We done the tour last year when we picked up the car and it was pretty good. See if you can get over to the Motorsport section and across the road to see the old Lotus cars in the workshop.

Little write up here from March 2015 http://www.scottishelises.com/phpbb/vie ... =2&t=40084

Toured in 1999 around the time UJI was born, great day out :-)

Was free then too...

The factory tour is OK if you have never been. Not that much to see TBH, but it is interesting (ish). Team lotus tour is much better and a must if your at the factory anyway. So proper old school race cars being worked on and the old school feel too the place is worth the journey.

There's a Lotus originals store on site too. Tour was interesting so if you're there then defnately worth it. Not enough to travel solely for that reason though IMO. We were there for a track day so best of both. :thumbsup
