Not Grommit?

Yes, now the cat is out of the bag :-) The Audi engine is out of Egor and a replacement engine is in and running - should be back on the road for early Feb :-)

Cheers,

LOL. I have a head that is good for 220BHP but no desire to run it for any length of time.

I posted in general chat - what would you expect to carry out on the car: c service, tyres etc if been stood...

I would expect no more than a couple of thousand at Craigs unless you do the servicing yourself?

How much do they usually go for?

No history in nearly 10 years and sat around for 5 of them. Seller can't even be bothered to write a proper advert never mind MOT it..

I get that they are rare, but they are more or less the same as an Elise with more power, different clams and bigger wheels right?
It basically costs around 2.5x my current Elise for a car that would likely need all the things I've already done to the Elise done (suspension rebuild etc), and what i'd get back is maybe 30-40hp more and a roof that stuck on.

I'm sure I could find clams, wheels, paint, and 40hp for £12-15k.

Am I missing the point somewhere, but the cost differential for what is the same basic car is pretty huge? :blackeye

well you are full of optimism :cheers

But then its a valid point. I spoke to my local garage (Allon White) and they reckon around £1k will get most replaceable items done (well a c service and Water pump).. They also warned me on scottish cars.

They bought a couple from scotland and found a lot of corrosion due to the more ecommon use of Salt on the roads (vs Southerners)...

I'm not a watch person, but if I were I'd prefer the genuine Rolex say over the hommage & this follows the same path.

Exactly, a copy is never going to have the provenance of the original, ergo it will never have the value.
