DJI Phantom 3 Advanced.

Post by tut » Wed Jan 20, 2016 4:28 pm

See that MikeS has just bought one, good video of his house area on FB. Was thinking of one myself as we have the ideal area here, empty for miles so few limitations and would be able to use it everyday walking the dogs, with a mile radius range around us.

In the meantime I have bought a Monocular Night Vision Scope, but will check with Mike on what he thinks of the Phantom.

ps:- WhatsApp just informed me that it is his friend's.

Thinking of getting an advanced myself, especially after the recent price drop.
This seems quite a good deal.

I never bought one, my mate came round with his one. You can get the 4k version for the price of the advanced now. Worth it if you have a use for one, nice bit of kit. Very stable in flight and some pretty cool features like follow me and way point setting for autonomous flight. Good range as well.

Pro is identical to the Advanced Mike except for the 4K, but you pay £461 extra just for that. 4K is the same price as the Advanced but you lose some features to account for the price, ie:- range which is a lot less.

Sweet point seems to be the Advanced if you do not have a need for 4K.

ps:- is it likely to be a gimmick for me after a few uses, or would walking the dogs and being able to fly it line of sight for a mile from the lounge make a difference. Also if I am using FPV with an iPad Mini, does it have direct controller to drone Wi Fi or does it have to go via mobile signal?

Who's selling that TUT? the back pack would be better to me than a free tablet.
