AA P&L
AA P&L
AA have quoted me nearly £100 for P&L on the S1, I haven't needed cover recently as the Exige was covered under Lotus warrenty. The last time I had P&L cover was on the Red Exige but I thought it was much cheaper than what I've been quoted now.
Just wondered if this is the going rate or if I need to do some severe negociating ?
I only had 1 claim against the Red Exige ( new gearbox) during the three years i last had cover, hope it doesn't just get loaded based on previous cliams.
Cheers

Re: AA P&L
Not a big fan of it - overpriced and difficult to get money out of them. Decided to join the RAC (who don't double your premium after the first year like the AA) and keep the significant saving towards any repairs.

Re: AA P&L
I cancelled my AA totally the other week as have only used the breakdown twice in god knows how many years.
If it comes to it, you can sign up there and then and pay the additional fee for an instant pick up.
Ps, agree P&L can be a pain to use.

(that's why I think Mike will do fine, that and his lack of imagination).![]()

Re: AA P&L
Last P&L claim was fine, one before would have been but I screwed up by taking the car out of the garage until John could fix it and put miles on it.
Considering I have had five claims in a year in the past Graham, I do not think they load it, but do not accept their initial quote, £70 is more like it. I paid £194 in July plus a £40 petrol card so £154 for the Elise, Honda, TT, full cover apart from courtesy car and P&L on all three. He started off at well over £300. Already had genuine claims on the Honda and Audi for around £400, and N3 is going down to Craig next week for a CV joint or similar and a new windscreen.
Are RAC doing P&L again yet, they did do for a while and it was up to £1,500 per claim, but they then stopped it?

Re: AA P&L
I think I paid £95 for my Mini when I had it so sounds like that's the going rate.
I thought less than a tenner per month wasn't bad to be honest....
Maybe claiming depends on the garage you use? I used a BMW specialist for a £1100 job and the AA paid out the max claim of £500 with no hassle.

Re: AA P&L
I took it as a bolt on to my roadside recovery option. Somewhere around £70 extra on top of the packageI think.
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....
Re: AA P&L
Will you claim for a throttle cable John considering there is a £35 excess and a new one is £34?
