Music streaming services (nlc)

Post by DJ » Sat Nov 14, 2015 11:14 am

Who are folk using?, views?, costs etc?

Seems a bigger range of suppliers than ever. Main content requirement is for latest up to date pop type stuff to satisfy the needs of school age daughters rather than having access to the largest or most diverse music library.
Must link well and easily with Sonos and I noticed my amp has direct support for Juke, Napster and Spotify so keen to hear about experiences of these as well as Apple music, Deezer and any other bizarrely named streamers. :D

Many thanks.

Spotify is the market leader I use it on my phone and ps4. I'm far to pikey to pay for it. £15 a month for me and Ann is a twice as much as I would be willing to pay.

I have been using Deezer for the last year as it was free for 12months with Sonos - works well for me so will probably renew next month on the £10 a month subscription.

Been using Spotify Premium as it works with Sonos and also links well with the BMW Professional Nav system but I think I'll give Apple music a try when Sonos start to support streaming from it (rumoured to be after Christmas I think).

Spotify seems to be missing a few major artists that my daughter likes (Taylor Swift and Katy Perry to name two) which is enough to make me think about swapping.
Honestly, it's my daughter that likes them. Honestly. I promise.

Same here. Use it with Sonos and also on my phone - the offline play capabilitys really useful when traveling.
Just checked and Deezer has both Katy Perry and Taylor Swift.

Useful post, thanks.

(Similarly, I never ever annoy my daughters by flawlessly signing the rap bit in 'Shake it off' when playing) :leave

Another happy Spotify and sonos user here. They're really doing well with their playlists and mood based music now too

Another thumbs up for Sonos plus Deezer. I got a year free subscription in Jan when I bought my Sonos system and will probably renew next year. Streams quick even on my crappy slow broadband.

I've heard that there is a mythical SE Spotify playlist...

Some say that if you hold a Glencairn up to your ear, you can hear its distant echos.

And the only way to access the One True Playlist is to scan the vomit stains on Smee's carpet with a QR code app...

Just to add, I've tried Amazon Prime Music as I already had Prime... It pretty much sucks, and isn't a Spotify replacement.
