Looks very similar to Goodwood revival...................

I only made it along for 3 hrs late on Sunday. But I was very impressed. I'd have been there all weekend had I not been Daddy Day Care.
And actually I'd have come earlier on Sunday if I'd appreciated how much they laid on for kids. And for free - impressive.
Saw some great statics, and the track displays were brilliant. Seeing real cars of all genres up close, very Goodwood!

Would be good if this event takes off. Could not make it during the weekend but even if it gets 10% like the Goodwood Revival then it would be a good thing.
Was only there on the Fri eve where the trade stands were a little sparse but its early days and would be good to see it build up to something bigger/better.

Beata and I of a similar opinion to yourself and could see some great potential to the event. Hope they continue it as an annual event and that it grows into something special

Re: Ingliston Revival/Trackday 11-13th Septermber
It's good to hear some positive reviews of the event- I'd read a few people moaning about it being rubbish on Facebook.
The main gripes seemed to come from there being no racing, very procesional track demos with no passing allowed, very few old cars (which is surely the point of a revival meeting) and the whole thing basically being a big advertisement for a supercar experience company.
Was that not the case? I really fancied going but was glad I didn't when I read he comments on Facebook.
And surely the organisers shot themselves in the foot by holding it the same weekend as the Goodwood revival.
Not only would some spectators be down there but surely all the best cars/competitors would be there rather than a new event.

The advertising was moderately misleading. I think they could have said no overtaking and taken the safety car off to let people stretch a little. Having said that the experience as a spectator was pretty good.
Definitely want to see this event return.

Re: Ingliston Revival/Trackday 11-13th Septermber
I was there both days and, on balance, enjoyed the weekend with Sunday being the far the better day with more cars and lessons from Saturday being taken on board.
The track driving was a 'no overtaking' procession behind a slow 'pace' car. That would have been understandable if the rules were applied to the Super Car Experience guys too, but no, they were going round and not far off full wack without helmets, and freely overtaking each other. That clearly wound up a few of the more powerful and experience cars and drivers. Charlie Shaw had been invited, and billed, to give a '1000 BHP Demo' but was banded after five minute for overtaking. Clearly some naive management and a real PR disaster, considering his social media following.
But I wish it well, and will go back if it is on next year. As has been said, there is potential for a really good event if the 'Super car Experience' commercial interest is held in check, and the event is given the professional management it deserves.

Nice video
You did seem a bit slow in the back section though. I hope you weren't deliberately dropping back so you could nail it through the esses
The Sunday was definitely the better day. I think the weather played a big part in that. More exhibitors, more public and dry (faster) track sessions.
A few more manufacturers and trade stands would have been welcome, but a overall a decent effort. Hopefully a taste of things to come.

Same here, more exhibitors, more punters and better weather on Sunday all made more of a day of it. My morning track session was a lot more fun, with the pace car upping the pace considerably compared to Saturday - was even managing to get some air coming off the new section behind the GrandstandDavid wrote:I was there both days and, on balance, enjoyed the weekend with Sunday being the far the better day with more cars and lessons from Saturday being taken on board.

Did not appreciate that at times (esp from 4-6 each day) that we were basically a side show while the experience company was raking in the dosh.David wrote: But I wish it well, and will go back if it is on next year. Not bad for a first time event - don't feel the need to rush back next year, but would like to visit it in future years as it hopefully blossoms.
Re: Ingliston Revival/Trackday 11-13th Septermber
I was describing to someone that the new section seemed as if someone had dropped a 50p on the map while designing it, and just drawn around it. This image illustrates the point quite effectively:

Paul (of Italian supercar/bike day at Hopetoun) is possibly looking to piggy back on the event for the Italian Supercar/bike day

Think that would be an excellent idea and is bound to bring a whole load more people in and allow some really nice exotica onto the track.

Designing it? Naw, that was a botch. Looked to me as if the contractors had the wrong kit for that radius and gave up after the first few yards. No grading of levels either which made part of the track unusable and hence the cones. Lost opportunityDominic wrote:I was describing to someone that the new section seemed as if someone had dropped a 50p on the map while designing it . . .

Not to mention the rally stylee yump from old track to new... I hope they get that fixed.David wrote:Designing it? Naw, that was a botch. Shame, problem is the grandstand it on top of old arena corner, new section looks odd from the ovehead shot.
