I think if you let them know that your just meeting Ronnie from Wheels Around to get new tyres fitted, then you should be fine. Well I hope so, as I am coming down from Abz with a van full of wheels and worn tyres.

See you tomorrow maybe. (I should be there just after 09:00)

Can't get up to KH on Saturday annoyingly and Sunday looks iffy.. but might be ok so just looking for a plan B option. Just collection, I don't need Ronnie to fit anymore.

Cheers.

Dave.
Dave, if it helps I can pick up your tyres from Ronnie at some time next week and deliver them to you in either Glasgow or Edinburgh. Just let me know, Kevin.

Gents,

All the tyres have arrived and i was down to KH today to pick up the tyres for the ABZ crew. Hendeg came down in his car for a run and we also met Highlander for a coffee and to pick up a couple of items for Tut. KH was very busy today with the SLS taking place and I was approached by some of the drifting guys for the old tyres.

Tyres all ready for fitting.

Front tyres all fitted and balanced and the wheels protected with bubble rap. Old tyres on the top.

One of two old rear ZZRs which was starting to disintegrate badly because of low tyre pressure. Also inside the tyre on the inside curved edge was very shiny and it did not have the used look about them which was another indicator (Ronnie's assistant informed us about that point). Need some air into them after a track day, as the profile of the the ZZR is very stiff and if the pressure is too low, then it puts too much pressure on the sidewall.

Ali, this is the culprit that you were hearing.

We also found out that the new Yoko ADo48 are now not road legal as they don't have the relevant 'E" symbol on the tyre profile. Watch out if you are buying elsewhere as you might get a new tyre delivered. (Big D, is this what you bought???)

Campbell, we can also confirm that Daisy was wearing denim, but they were not the hot pants that you were thinking about.

Thanks for paying on time everyone, as Ronnie would have had to pay out about £8000 for tyres. :thumbsup

Cheers,

Steve.

ps Can we go yet. :D

Owe you a few beers on the Frolic.

Well done Steve. Yep, a wheel weight in there annoying me for a year!

I'll have a laser thermometer with me on frolic so we can do some pressure optimisation on the V6's.
It may be that for the sidewall they need slightly more than usual optimum even temp gradient across the width.

Any experience from the racers?

Thats me just emptied the van and i took this picture before fitting my wheels back on. I had to be careful with Kingers Team Dynamics wheels as they protrude slightly past the tyre.

Got mine fitted today by Ronnie and just after leaving knockhill traction control light came on and system turned itself off. Didn't see it mentioned anywhere but does the difference in front tyre profile knock the system out or have I just developed a fault coincidently at the same time?
