Track use only this one Tut, well at the moment anyway...

It's a unregistered chassis (not a CAT C/D car) so it could be IVA'd like a kit car would be with some additional electrical work. I have built in spare electrical capacity, relays, switches, fuses etc that are all live, they just need connecting up to other ancillaries.

off the top of my head it would require the following to get it road registered-

handbrake re-attaching (the parts come with the car, I left it off for weight saving and I have no use for it on a race track)
front and side indicators wiring back in (already has the rears working off the stem so no big task)
hazard lights reinstating
reversing light reinstating
Horn
windscreen washer bottle and pump reinstating (the washer nozzles are still there and the wiper is already wired in)
some form of windscreen de-mister (oner of those electric hairdryer types would do it I believe but it needs something no matter how pathetic)
Cat in the exhaust system (easy to do as I have use the oem Lotus MotorSport decat section)

All the main lights work, side, dip, main, fog, brake.

As a track car it is finished in the respect you can put fuel in, check oil levels and go. It is a good but basic spec relative to other race cars but it is a solid base to work from should you wish to in the respect its all new to start with.

As a road car it is still a project for someone to take on, and I imagine for the man who knows what he is doing, a couple of grand would see it on the road. :thumbsup

7 years of racing them Tut and I have come to one simple conclusion, keep it just that. SIMPLE!

Maximise the uptime, minimise the downtime. Its an expensive hobby and if half of the time you should be out on the track you are under the car fixing it or having problems then you are wasting a lot of your time, effort and money just being there.

I built this car off the back of what I know works and works well. Its all oem so you can take it pretty much anywhere lotus if you don't have the basic mechanical skill yourself to fix it and they will immediately know what they are looking at, it's not someones bespoke install where you either have to take it back to the original installer or you're having to chase wires/install through and the like to find the problem.
