NEE NAW episode was good - especially given the 'surprising' ending

I am very impressed by the quality of the restorations (compared to that dodgy C4 programmed with that geezer and his new yorker business colleague

I agree.

Excellent bit of telly, albeit much of it over our kids' heads. No matter. I'm enjoying watching solo, uninterrupted, usually on a Monday

Looking forward to the Hot Hatch edition very much.

Just watched the police episode now, didn't look they had nearly as much work to do, therefore spent more time on the history of police cars etc and less on the car but I thought it was really good tv.
Really looking forward to next week used to have a Mk1 Golf Gti Campaign Edition.

Just watched the first and third episodes tonight and really enjoyed them both. It brought back memories of when I nearly bought a White Pug 1.9Gti around about 1989 for £8000, until I was quoted £2000 for insurance. The test drive was just along the road from where I live now. My mate bought a Miami Blue one a few years later and another friend had a Renault 5 Turbo. Good memories.

Nice touch this series, the close link and doing the work on behalf of the owners.

Enjoyed the golf although might have liked it better if they had restored to an original condition as I had one of the last run special edition (Campaign) Mk1 gti, it also had a GTi Engineering 2000 conversion, so was pretty fast but unfortunately had standard brakes which wasn't so good.

That's a tidy car, Ian.

Closest I came was a couple of shots of my Dad's Mk2 Scirocco GTX and my then girlfriend's Mum's slightly underpowered GT.

"Skiing" behind the Scirocco (without skiis of course) whilst holding on to the spoiler and getting towed through a Livingston housing estate must rank amongst the most irresponsible Father/Sons activity ever - but also the greatest fun!
