Cheers,
2 days off work, cottage in Innerleithen with wood burning stove and hot tub with the family, mountain biking at Glentress yesterday, Traquair House today having fun in the garden maze and beer tasting, back in hot tub for late afternoon drinks.

Steve, got a dual action polisher so if you would like to show me how to remove all the scratches on the 22year old Porsche, feel free to take a trip down :thumbsup

Will be heading home Saturday afternoon. Will cycle from Innerleithen to Glentress and do a bit of biking round glentress and back. Nice coffee and cake shop in Innerleithen (no1) much better tha the Hub replacement at Glentress :(

Quite a lot of blue route altered past the top car due to intention tree felling and wide blown trees down so the routes aren't as good you need to do lots of climbing on the forest tracks than on trails. Might see you about.

Back home after a great wee few days away, today was a easy route 20 mile cycle from Innerleithen to Peebles and a divert to the blue Glentress run (ending up with best bagel + coffee + cake @ No1 in Innerleithen ) , home to a bottle of nice Sauvignon Blanc then polished off most a bottle of port (only a spicy 10yr old tawny Jim, vintage port is soo much nicer), rest of family buggin out too tired just as I'm getting in the mood, if only I had a beach camp fire, a great sunset, and a bunch of friends and loads of alcohol another 5hrs would be easily possible on my birthday weekend :thumbsup
Cheers, ian
PS maybe slightly drunk....my birthday led torch is awesome blinded by and counted the 60 led spots in the yellow spots in my eyes !

Bring the torch for next Campaganza :-)

I'm blinded too. But by company accounts and credit card figures I've been wading through for most of this beautifully sunny day. Grr!

Glad you've had a great time though, Ian.

Hard life self employed, there is a lot you need to do, hope the rewards are worth it. I really need to get my wife May to an up north camping weekend this year, although my work mates have advised against that as she will be worried I get too drunk, drive too fast and aren't sensible but no idea why they think that !! (If she comes i need no bad stories about drinking especially last drinker hmmm... or driving fast or swimming on open seas) or anything else...) Did take her over Dukes pass recently she thought that was fast, didn't have the heart to say I normally do it about it 30-40mph faster

Get her along. Plenty other WAGs to distract her from your behaviour!

Self employment continues to satisfy, yes. Big diff is, it was my choice to hit the figures last night. No over-bearing boss setting random deadlines. Not even the Finance Director. Who bailed out to bed. Sheesh!

Agreed on the vintage Port Ian...was looking for a bottle of "Bin 27" whilst shopping but no joy....came home with an everyday ruby.Taken a notion for Gin recently after a night out with the kids so buy a random/obscure bottle every month....didn't realise we distill so much in Scotland.Harvey Nicks in Edinburgh quite good for obscure(to me at least) bottles of spirits.Hoping to stop in Andorra as part of a driving holiday in Sept so that always throws up some booze buying opportunities and ferry home from Amsterdam( believe they like a gin or two there)
 turned into a booze fest
