Mission Motorsport Track Event...

Post by Dominic » Mon Mar 30, 2015 8:00 pm

This seems like a good event, and something worth getting involved in;

16th April, from 12 midday at Knockhill.

Background and some details here;

I have contacted the organizer to find out more, but from what I read, it looks like they are keen to get drivers and car clubs along.

P.S. Mods, I have stuck this in General Chat, but if you feel it's more a track event, I won't be too offended if you move it to TDs. :roll:

Sounds interesting and a worthy cause.
Can't quite figure out if they're looking for people to take passengers out for a few laps or is it display only?
I'd need to check the work calendar too.

At work we get a free day to support charities. I'll check this qualifies but if it does I'd be up for it. Assuming they are interested in non race experienced drivers etc.

I could be up for this. I've entered a team for the Race of Remembrance this November so it might be good to meet some of the Mission Motorsport guys in advance. Seems a great project and a worthwhile cause.

Update. I had a chat with Findlay (the organiser) this morning. They are very limited by numbers for the track experience so are now fully subscribed (there might be one lotus doing some demo stuff of some sort :roll: ). They are happy to welcome any of us, but it would not be for on track activities.

i met the mission motorsport guys at Goodwood last year.
The big beardy guy had just arrived on a motorbike with a support truck in tow. Had just driven from Afghanastan to Goodwood, cracked open a beer and bathed in the sun.
I think one of the BMW compact series guys at KH is mission motorsport as well.

I can not express how humbling the whole thing was.

I'm off all that week but sadly away in Denmark taking my family to legoland. I would have been totally up for it.
