I can't get my head round that for The Shire.

But best of luck. You can tuck away the change for that Motability Evora S you've just found.

That wouldn't buy my house with it's postage stamp garden. Anything with 3 acres down here will be well North of 600k.

It would barely buy ours either, Kelvin, which is scary!

Great thing is that there is barely anything to change. The owner who is a carpenter built the house so he will replace the downstairs doors with glass panelled ones a la TT, we both like to open rooms out and see through one to the other, 60 tons of chippies to put on the front drive which is hardcore but looks like mud, maybe more fencing around the paddocks for the dogs, some redecoration of the upstairs bedrooms painted in kids colours, and that is about it.

Unknown factor is the wrench at leaving TT after twenty years, it has been a fantastic family home even without the six Tut Tower events, they can never be replaced but will never be forgotten, like Oman they have been a large part of my life. However I reckon I can comfortably settle into there. It was also almost the only one where we could get our two beds side by side in the Master bedroom. Although we are downsizing we are not hoveling.

Highly unlikely now that we will manage a farewell event at TT, aiming for early April for exchange of contracts and then we are off on the 9th to May 3rd in Thailand. Could of course ask Paul if he would like to host one for us and meet you lot(sound of Verian beating me about the head).

Alternative is for a whole new ball game and have a delayed one at Three Acres and cut the cord, (that aint staying, Verian likes Tut End, or Tuts End), loads of space for a Marquee and tents, and not too bad inside.

Displaced but not buried.

I'm sad and its not even my house mate!

What a legendary place and so much of that is of course down to its occupants.

To the next chapter mate...when's the house warming?

Three acres looks like a no goer now thanks to the twat that is selling it. I was informed yesterday that he had viewers at the weekend who had expressed interest but had not put in an offer, but he had still not replied to my last offer of £285K. I told his Solicitor that if he did not come back then I would be withdrawing it. Today I was told that they had put in an offer, and as his Solicitor is fed up with his messing around, he set a closing date for offers of 1500 today. I pointed out that I would need to know if they were offering for the house alone at £265K, or plus the 3 acres at £295K, before I could put in a final offer.

More phone calls and it turned out that they had put in an offer for the two, PLUS for another six acres that had suddenly appeared out of thin air. He told me that he did not own any more land, but that he leased the field next door from the farmer for his daughter's horse jumping. As I would not get it anyway if their bid went through, I instructed my Solicitor to offer £290K anyway and hopefully get some satisfaction if his lying did not work out, as of course I would withdraw it as he probably is trying to get planning permission for the other six acres.

Which leaves us without a viable alternative, so went googling for properties which were not on ASPC as we had checked all those, and came up with two good ones eight miles apart, but higher priced. One at £329K and one at £360K with 10 acres that had been valued at £500K, but reduced because of an acrimonious divorce. We have viewings for both tomorrow, but the lower priced one would be favourite as we wanted to stay within £300K. However BigD asked why we needed extra money that we did not need to live on, so why not put it into a better house that we would be happier with, rather than one that seemed to be the best of the rest.

Don't you just love the name!!!!! 10 acres and geo thermal, underfloor heating.

"This property was valued by both local Estate Agents in 2007 at £500,000.00, however as this property now forms part of a divorce settlement and taking into account the drop in market values, it is now offered at Offers Over £350,000.00. A Property Survey was carried out in June 2012 with no issues being raised, and confirming the present asking price."

What does the current home report say on the value as previous years valuations are pretty useless?

Always wary about when an estate agent offers way below market even with a divorce - anything else happening close by that they want to put people off the scent?
