I have winced at the damage to (IMO) nice cars, most notably mini cooper and Volvo 850R....all three in this don't deserve what will undoubtedly come to them :?

Apparently the Esprit was a particularly nice example - was in Murrays for sale a while ago.

See i don't get that....

Understand if if was a rough example, knowing it's gonna be trashed.... :(

Of course, this "special" may differ in that they don't ruin the cars....but I really do doubt this...

I had always assumed they bought dogs as they were going to be trashed but I guess they buy whats out there :? In the scheme of things it wont make a huge difference financially to THE BBC as the difference between a dog and a minter is probably only a few £k but it does seem criminal to any lover of Lotus to destroy such a beautiful example. All in the name of 'art' !!

Just got around to watching the Christmas Special last night. Been 6 months since I have watched Top Gear and i have to say i was really entertained. Agree with Ross, the brutality inflicted on the Esprit with the rough terrain was painful to watch. WHY do that to such a lovely looking vehicle especially so when you still have 1000 miles to drive. The last 10 - 15 mins was an interesting insight into the support teams too that follow the "star cars".
