Another Elise breakdown.

Just had a call from a friend with a query. He was driving his Elise down to MMC for a service and was just a few miles down the road when it sounded as if his exhaust had blown. He was just calling in at Tesco Ellon for fuel, but it turned out that the exhaust manifold was cracked at the head. I advised him that he should not drive it any further as it could be a fire risk, so he has called the AA to get it relayed down to Edinburgh.

He also asked me if he would be covered by his AA P&L, but although I know that they do not cover an exhaust, there is a chance that it would cover a reasonably new manifold.

AA turned up at 1500 with a low loader, so she is now on her way down to Craig. Tesco's had an Internet connection so no pain waiting, and as I was sitting in a wheelchair near the window watching for them, they even brought me coffee. Driver said this car was yellow the last time that he picked it up, realised that I had forgotten to inform them that it was a different car, but as the reg was the same no problem.

TonyG is taking his car down shortly and leaving it for a few days, so he may be able to bring N3 back for me. A fair bit of hanging around so back in my massage chair with a G&T. Times I feel that I am getting old.

Whoops, forgot about the transition in tenses, but think that I am safe now.

Interested to see if they will cover the manifold under P&L, but no big deal if not, it worked out well. On the other hand that is what we pay the extra premium for, just that the brain has slowed down and not as quick on the upkeep as I used to be.

I used to be the expert on here as to what you could claim for, and the best way to go about it. However a reminder, if you aint got P&L cover then get it, tis a no brainer when your car is out of warranty.
