I was still probably going faster than 65.5 on Saturday - on a good day with a warm dry track I can hit high 62's in my car so less feels slow, if you get my drift.

I couldn't have been that much slower than usual by the end as I was lapping with SimonA rather than getting away from him

Maybe there's another Elise with MAC as part of the number plate?
I have S6NAC but it's an Exige.

Also I doubt I'd be doing 65s (can't recall giving Gareth a shot). ;)

I only said "keep in sight for a lap and a half" I didn't say "keeping up with"!

It was some tabloid editor who sensationalised this into "MAC IN SLOW SHOCKER" :D

It definitely wasn't an Exige alicrozier.....I know the difference. Exiges look faster than Elises when standing still

I think you were hanging on to the back of me last month although I had already cooked my tyres by that point leading to a wee spin at the hairpin :D

65.5 is a decent time in the CTR, best I managed in the CTR was about 67, mind you I was using £55 a corner Federals. Not exactly a great track tyre

Hi Rory :wave
it was me who honked my horn (i recognised your plate) as we drove passed you on the way up the D/C to the event! We were in a convoy of 3 or 4 cars, you probably had been recently overtaken at some insignificant speed by a yellow elise with a red one in hot persuit!!
you looked like you where going well on sat. :thumbsup

Heh - don't be put of with the baiting - we do it all the time :D

Think it was me who was driving, had one of Craigb's mates in the pax seat.

Used to be a time when I lapped with the typeR guys - they were faster in the straights whilst I was quicker round the corners, of course back then you were allowed to overtake on either side, which I did, underbrakes coming into the hairpin. Driver didn't think much of my move and became a SE member to tell me so. He also didn't think much of the yahoo groups if I remember correctly

Ed, I never heard your horn.....but I do remember seeing you all flying past.

If you drove more moderately up to the circuit, maybe you wouldn't need to refuel your little tanks halfway through the session :)

Kenny, yeah I saw the spin. Good it was at the hairpin, so I was going nice and slow and it was easy to avoid you. Like most spins it seemed to happen in slow motion to me, but I bet it seemed to swap ends quickly when sitting in it. I think you were chasing some Porsches etc at the time...maybe a bit too eager to keep up with them up the straight?

depends on what your take on speed is!

Another instance of McKeanning it :thumbsup

Having said that, we were lucky we ran in to Mark on the way up, about 1.5 miles from KH, as about 2 corners later a rapidly moving police 5 series flew past us in the other direction :D
