New Lid

Anyone recommend me a helmet supplier? Demon thieves the obvious choice but wondered if there were others to consider.

Cheers

Motorbike shops will likely be cheaper and just as good,... await SE power-rangers to advise..

Methinks some of the bigger TD organisers will start requiring lids complying with car regs, if they don't already? Snell, etc, that bike ones aren't built for?

Grand Prix Raceware are another option. No personal experience, just on rep.

On Frolic last year Golding advised my lid wasn't up to scratch and wouldn't be allowed on with some organisers. No point paying a fortune for everything else and scrimping on the hard hat..

GPR are good (have been to their unit) but not the cheapest. Wondered if any racers knew better places to shop :)

Try www.plays-kool.co.uk
Nick competes in Sprints and Hills, uses what he sells and I'd a decent bloke

I had a chat with someone at Kames recently who's involved in setting up a new motorsport parts business in Scotland, no experience of them myself, but he was talking about having a decent stock of helmets/racesuits to try on for size:

Another option is Rennat at Knoxkhill. Joe is well known for his helmet painting, but also sells Bell and Stilo helmets

You can usually negotiate a decent discount from demon thieves if you give them a call. I did get a good deal on my new race suit from GPR, again managed to get a decent discount from them too.

Nicky Grist also offers a really good service on Stilo helmets.

I also have a Arai Jet GP open face helmet that is now surplus to requirements.
