Festival of speed 2014

Post by GBOBM » Mon Feb 10, 2014 11:38 am

I am looking at tickets for the festival of speed this year and was just wondering if anyone knew if there are any differences between the days.

I have the opportunity to go on the Friday and /or the Sunday and wondered if anyone had any experience of when is best to go?

Hoping to go to both, but if its a choice between the 2 then which is best?

word of warning about the traffic going! Its insane.

We did the press day last time, cant advise Friday vs Sunday, but if G of Lotus fame is about, the Hethel team were their for the entire event so he may be able to answer more insightfully.

Thats good to have the warning about the traffic. :)

I wonder if there is a train station nearby that we can use.

I went a few years ago, Sat & Sun and arrived fairly sharp (08:30/09:00) on both days - did not have any traffic issues IIRC. Maybe things changed since then.

My brother in law works in traffic control and can get the tickets for £40 per day rather than the £60-odd they are normally.
They live about 40mins away so I was hoping we can just train it. :)

Just sorting tickets, flights and accom now.

Assumed a hire car but is train an option ? Hadn't thought of that.
