I never knew that Astons were made of fiberglass. Always thought they were hand crafted panels. So why are they so expensive ?.

Apparently the wings are made of a composite and other body parts are alloy or steel for strength, kinda like a Renault scenic I suppose ;-)

Aston stopped using hand formed panels with the DB7 for their standard cars. I think specials like the Vantage Zagato still have panels made using an English wheel etc.. and the classic work shop still do things by hand. They couldn't have went to the volumes they did/have and still made the panels by hand. Extruded & , I think, bonded chassis underneath them as well.
