Does it feel that way only during the acceleration, or even when just cruising at that speed?

Cheers,
Robin

Hi Andy, I am just up the road from you in Old Deer, so happy to check your car out, and we can compare it to mine.

Shut up Robin........

Hi Robin, it feels fine upto around 60 mph.
Above that and it feels kinda floaty/light, as I said its pretty scary when overtaking, really does not feel planted much above 60. Definitely worse when under hard acceleration...maybe Im just too used to modern cars and the insulated driving experience they give?

Tut- Im working next weekend but maybe I can pop and see you the weekend after? Id appreciate a second opinion.......maybe its a case of " they all do that sir..."

Hi Andy

Sounds like something is not right somewhere, i would have a geometry setup done on it , just to make sure.
They can tramline , which can be what you are feeling, again , depends on setup.

I'm not having a dig at you northerners, but it could be your roads ....
I was partaking in exuberant driving in skye, and along one of the straights I found that speeds in excess of naughty, made the car bounce about quite alarmingly. Unfortunately I couldn't slow down as I was making a point to a scooby driver, but I found it fairly alarming.
I've driven about round peterhead etc, and the roads tend to have a natural undulation in them that on a car that was set up very stiff would be unsettling on the wrong side of 90. You probably wouldn't find it unsettling in a saloon car, or even notice it.
Not taking the piss, but you could try not gripping the steering wheel so hard, you might find that makes a difference ?
This makes a difference on bikes, you should hold on with your knees, and relax with bent arms on the handlebars, as this lets the forks and tyre react to the road. (which in the main is a good thing)
P.s. I'm in an s1 so might be totally irrelevant. (but that has never stopped me when it comes to voicing an opinion)

Cheers all,

Guess the first step is to pop and see Tut for a second opinion. Tut, I will give you a shout mate to arrange a quick visit!

Like I say, it may well be me being too used to modern cars but a second opinion wont hurt anyone!

Cheers
