278bhp honda engine in classifieds

Post by Dipper » Tue Aug 06, 2013 8:51 am

been talikng to corbie about this. i've pretty much ruled out the complete package of engine, gbox, diff, ecu etc due to the mileage + the hassle of installation. he may be willing to sell the fancy pants head separately though

my question is, what all will i need for this and how much am i looking at? im guessing a new ecu and mapping as fairly sure i dont have a kpro already. its a jdm head which i believe is a straight swap.

anything else i might need? any potential issues in doing this?

Easy to check your ECU, if it has a USB connector then it is a K-pro.

The head from Corbies would be a straight swap for yours. To get the most from it you would have to look if your exhaust manifold was upto the job. Corbie would have a map if you had a K-pro which would be a very close starting point, that is what he did for N3.

i take it thats an external usb? sure i checked for that a while ago. not got it to hand as my brothers currently ragging it!

manifold is a fairly beefy 4-2-1. ill check the dia when i get it back

i take it corbies a bit of a guru on these things?

its tempting! :)

Yes, on the case side.

Corbie is an expert on mapping, and the Honda engine in general, he used to work at Dastek.

It's actually a printer cable, the one on the ecu, the USB is the other end, as I had to borrow tuts to get mine through an emmisions test, oh and my old ecu had the printer port but wasn't kpro, just k100, the difference being only authorised hondata dealers can do anything with that, of which is there even any in scotland?
