What the f*ck is going on in Perth ?

Post by Lazydonkey » Thu Oct 27, 2005 9:08 am

Had to blast (well trundle in my corsa) up to Inverness to pick up my car (picked a lovely night for it too!) and stopped off at perth and cruised past Grassicks BMW.

What was in the showroom ? A Gallardo and a Vantage ! And 4 TVRS sitting outside the Honda garage.

What the f*ck is going on in Perth? An oil boom or something ? :P
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

The Vanquish is owned by a chappie from Dundee who won the Lottery a couple of years ago - 8.7m IIRC - he deals with Grassicks - has an X5 4.8 & a Z4 too

Paul,

It may be a great driving car *despite* the fact it's a pseudo 4X4, but it's still a pseudo 4X4 - therefore IMHO, should be burned off the face of the earth....

Dread to think what would happen if one decided not to notice an Elise :(

<disclaimer> these are my opinions, but don't take offence if anybody owns one of these silly Chelsea Tractors. Just sell it... </disclaimer>

Chelsea Tractors
C'mon, at least call them Hyndland, Newton Mearns or New Town tractors, this is S_E afterall...

I'd love a Project Kahn Range Sport. On 22s.

Hmmmm....

So you actually require 4 wheel drive? Fair enough. Working vehicles get a pass. But I don't think a X5 would manage too well in the average muddy field with those wide road tyres....

I just get fecking wound up by the amount of real esate taken up by these rediculous wagons in rush hours - the typical mom-taxi type.

If it wasn't so nanny-state, I'd favour having to prove you require a large 4X4 for commercial reasons, before buying one. Or that you use it off-road X amounts of times a month (Off-roaders are petrolheads too)

Still, that's a bit John Prescott, so we'll let it slide...

If we are going down this line can wee add convertible drivers who leave the roof on ?

BTW has anyone seen the ground clearance on a Range Rover Sport? I've seen hatchbacks with more ground clearance!

test drove the RR Sport when looking to change my tintop.

Verdict - pile of crap.

How someone could justify paying £60k for a car with Fiesta switchgear is beyond me...

Plus the Cayenne is too fappin' guggit, so needless to say I didn't go the off-roader route...

I nearly found out! Pulled up behind one at a junction, saw the reverse lights come on... thought, "nah, he's surely seen me." Saw him roll back slightly...thought he was re-adjusting his tractor to turn the other way....kept coming back so blasted the horn and stuck my hand up waving like an @rse (had roof off). he eventually stopped and rolled forward again and started gesturing like I was in the wrong. If I hadn't been in a hurry, I would've hauled him out his car and decked him!

Mac,

Not suggesting it... hence John Prescott comment - tongue wedged in cheek?

Still don't see the point of 98% of them. But would defend anybody's right to have one (purely on principle)
