Ok apart from bttc.
If a driver keeps (I think its 3) going out with the track then they will get a drive through. If they use this during quali the lap will not count.
Not that I ever got this

I think what's informing my impression most of Pirelli, and the BBC link only re-inforces it, is being a quality dude, I hear the same type of chat day in day out. It just smells of sh*t.
'Its the teams fault, we wanted to bring new tyres' - yes. but for performance, not safety, reasons.
'its the kerbs fault, they're too sharp' - maybe, but they're 4 year old kerbs.
'it's the teams fault, they put the tyres on the wrong sides' - they did, human nature (I'm on a human factors course today) is people will do what they can if they perceive a benefit and they can get away with it and especially so if they're not told no. Pirelli did not say no - they're the tyre experts. If something shouldn't be done, they must be responsible for communicating it.
I could go on....

Didn't they just! I'll never forget being lucky enough to witness Senna qualifying his Lotus at Brands in '86. It seemed to dance above the tarmac

put a dirty great big bit of armco at the edge of the kerb, ala monaco, and that will solve it

Agreed, if straightening the corner means using the kerbs and cutting time, then it is the drivers option. He has to balance that between damaging his suspension and possibly his tyres. Also when and when not to use them in the dry/damp/wet.
If you want to designate the edge of the track then as Neil says put armco or tyres there, job done. If you want to discourage in stages then use the blue/white with a gradient leading into brick type or as in Simons pic the side of a hill, and that will make you think twice. The Chicane at KH is like that, I have very strong suspension and the underside of the car is not likely to get any more damaged than it is, I have more used tyres than I will get through in my lifetime, so I take more kerb than most.
However when the outside edge is marked by a cone and stopping me using the kerb, I clip it out of the way on the first hot lap. When KH were protecting the matting or grass they would put tyres or a solid post there, so that was a clear message for you to stay on the track.

It is certainly ugly, but if it makes the car faster around the lap, I suppose that is all that matters.
Mind you that is what you CALL a rear wing on the VX220.

I'm really looking forward to the race tomorrow. Weather looks suitably Spa like.
Lotus seem to have some new DRS tricks

Jeez. Convinced Webber only has 1 type of luck..... and it isn't good. And to get a reprimand and 10 place penalty for the next race under the totting up process due to getting a lift back to the pits

di Resta crashes once more, looks like a short career in F1.

Kimi did well despite his injury but I felt for Grojean, for once he kept his nose clean and still didn't do well

Yup, stunning drive from The Iceman - another master class in how to manage your tyres and still be very, very quick. Starting to believe he really could challenge Alonso at Ferrari next season. Great drive from Vettel again, but his dominance is getting very dull, just like Schumi in his glory days.

Difficult to really get interest in it, Kimi came from 13th to 3rd with a bad back, other than that very little happened.
Webbers luck continued.
