comfy seats
just wondering if anyone has fitted cheap comfy seats, or could recomend ones that fit straight in.
while i'm not against being spanked, i'd rather it wasn't while i was driving exuberantly. ( possibly afterwards)
possibly total refurb of the seats i have with different covers (and some padding) might be an option if anyone has an info ?
i realise that the probax seats are comfier, but most seem to be in the £600 mark, which i'd rather spend fixing other bits and pieces, as the seat is not a necessity but tyres etc are.
i noticed most seats for later elise and exige don't come with runners, is there a reason for that ?

Re: comfy seats
My S1 interior was retrimmed by Lotus. The seats were done to probax spec. Not sure how much it cost but they are sooo comfy and look the business

Re: comfy seats
cool, looks the business, was that just through murrays, or was it back to the factory ?
ideally that's all i'm after, though might have to be next winter now as planning on using the car excessively in the summer.
(i believe that's from May the 26th to June the 14th)

I don't know how easy they are to get hold of, but the seats in mine a pretty good. Standard fit to Sport 135 and Sport 135'99. Only pics I can find are in the original ad for my car;

Re: comfy seats
The retrimming was done through Bell & Colvill. Cost:
Seats to probax £615 + vat
Sill pads £60 + vat
Gear leaver £50+ vat
Hand brake cover £35+ vat
New? Steering Wheel £83+vat
£1000 total, a lot but really makes it stand out from the rest and when your looking at £ 500-600 for decent second hand seats or more for new cheap replacements not that bad value wise.

Re: comfy seats
cheers for the info, might just have to wait for a cheap set to turn up, as looking to fix a few other 'minor' issues first.
if i manage to get a semi decent second hand pair, then i will also have the coolest xbox360 driving seats ....

Re: comfy seats
Going to go with the carpets I think.
Re: comfy seats
Cheaper option....
I made some removable memory foam pads with antislip bases for longer journeys.
Total cost about £4 saving £996

Re: comfy seats
Carpets and memory foam all round.

No point in apying over the odds until I see something I want at a reasonable price
