Elise S819 ASX Former Owners and History

Post by KD88 » Fri Apr 05, 2013 7:30 pm

I'm trying to trace the history of my daughters Elise S1 and wonder if anyone on here knows anything about the car or It's first two owners.

We think the first owner was someone called Mr. K Smart from Falkirk, but we have no records of any of the work done to the car in his ownership.

We then have a number of invoices from 2005 for work carried out by the second owner a Mr S Wilson, also from Falkirk.

These two owners have both moved house and we don't have first names, only initials, so we're having trouble tracing them.

The third owner Mr J Wilson acquired the car in November 2005 and Sarah (also a Wilson) bought it from him in November 2010.

The car has had some significant upgrades including a VHPD head,
Piper cams, Sport 160 EFI ECU, Nitrons, cat back silencer system and ITG induction kit, but had no verniers and had not been set up properly, as the performance was not as it now is, since we have had it tuned as it should be.

When Sarah bought the car the seller obviously knew nothing about the head cams and ECU as he didn't mention them.

Murray Motor Company who sold it new and did work for the second owner, have a record of the car but no other details.

PTP who we think supplied the head and cams can't help either.

Any information would be gratefully received.

Edit:

I posted this on SELOC and got a reply telling me the first owner was called Kevin, was active in Lotus clubs, and used to track the car.

It is indeed Kevin Smart's old car ... I had its near sister S826ASX which died in spectacular fashion in Spain many years ago now.

Kevin does read here now and then I think so he might pop up and say hi ... I cannot tell you much more than you already know about the history of the car is in terms of work done, etc.

Cheers,
Robin

I can also add that Kevin was a founder member of this group. S819ASX was present at our first meeting, in the Star & Garter Hotel Linlithgow, in April of 1999. I was lucky enough to get a passenger ride in it, several months before taking delivery of my own S1. Which I still have.

Well you did say "or...about its owners" ;-)

Welcome along, and good luck with the family tree!

Thanks guys,

I've been doing a bit of Googleing and can anyone confirm that his wife is called BEEP and is involved in BEEP?

Hmm, that sounds a little bit too much like cyber stalking for my liking :-) ... we tend not to name people until they name themselves, so I hope you don't mind that I've edited the above for now. I've sent Kevin an email so maybe he'll pop up on here and/or pm you ....

Cheers,
Robin

Indeed that was my second Elise, and what a great car it was too, with much fun had. How can I help?

And 10 months since I was last on a track, tut.

Time has flown by since 2001 when I got engrossed in a new role, and the kids came along.

Hope you are doing well!

Thanks Robin, contact has now been made, and I'm sure Kevin doesn't think of me as a cyber stalker.

We are now getting a good history of the car. :cheers
