Sorry to put a downer on thing but this may be a load a sh17e but is the wrap not illegal? I heard of someone having to have there chrome wrap removed?

I would check it out?
Craig told me they had to get it approved by the Police to make sure it was road legal so should be fine, however I'll ask to get something in writing I can keep in the car that proves such an assessment was made should I get pulled over.

The pictures of the car look better than in real life in my opinion, as I think that it makes it look cheap when I was standing looking over it tonight. I joked to Brandon that it looks like its been wrapped in tin foil.

You better hope that the car does not have a breakdown after the film finishes at the weekend, as you would feel like a turkey with all that foil wrapped around you both. :damnfunny

On the other hand, the red Evora sports racer looks stunning. :love No comparison at all between the two. Whoever buys that car is going to be very happy indeed.

Hope you enjoy the film and the car Saj. You may even choose to wrap your Exige S in tin foil by the end of summer. :damnfunny
(Fingers crossed that you have it by then though)

Steve.
Admittedly close up its never going to be like a paint finish, and yes it's not going to be to everyone's taste but I'm not going to have it long and it will protect the paint work so no worrying about the paint work. Craig did ask if I wanted the wrap removed first but I thought just leave it as is.

I'm guessing the keys to an Exige S will ease the difficulty of handing it back!

Not a fan of the chrome wrap look but great if you want to stand out like a sore thumb. I'd have taken MMC's offer to remove :thumbsup
Same but on a bigger scale :thumbsdown

That and ease the wait for the Exige significantly.

It's not something I would do myself, but as I'm only going to have it a little while I can live with it.

It's certainly illegal in the USA!
I would get the authorisation in writing from Lothian and Borders finest.
I reckon you will get pulled on a regular basis because it is a "grey area" as to whether a chrome wrap is legal
You will not have a problem with DVLA as it is a temporary measure, however you will have to notify your insurers as its deemed to be a modification

I do not concur with the other comments about how great it looks , the original colour underneath is amazing.

Good to see you've got your hands on the Evora until the Exige comes along, you'll love it. :thumbsup

I had a look at that car a couple of weeks ago, the chrome is 'different' that's for sure. I'm with H8OAG, the original colour is much nicer.

:cheers

Meh- Storm Tiatanium is the only colour of Evora (or any Lotus for that matter) that I wouldnt have. Chrome looks great, although probably not a long term option, but its certainly topical :thumbsup

Just got back from picking the car up, what a drive, felt like I was David Beckham or something.....people running over to take pictures while I was parked at the lights. Loads of thumbs up along the motorway, of course I did expect it would get attention but it's significantly more than I expected.

As I've already said yes it won't be to everyone's taste and no I wouldn't do it myself but given the opportunity it's actually no skin off my nose. I'll consult my brother about legalities and what to do when pulled over (he's a Police officer) but getting pulled over for no reason is nothing new for me. If I find I'm getting pulled over too much then MMC will happily remove it if I ask so no big deal so far.
